Japanisms 2018 : Souls in tune

Editorial design of a fine book to mark the 2018 Japanese cultural season taking place in Paris and the 160th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and France.

 

This project is inspired by Japanese culture, architecture and long-standing traditions. The main direction of this editorial was to underline the meticulous architecture of Japanese gardens and its so-called ‘energetic’ zen spirals symbolizing spirituality and infinity. Garden design is a primordial art of Japanese culture whose goal is to limit artifact and emphasize nature's purity in a sober, minimalist and refined atmosphere.
